Zhaoyuan | Hanover, November 12, 2025 – At the 30th UN Climate Change Conference, held from November 10 to 21 in Belém, the capital of the Brazilian state of Pará, China is hosting its own pavilion to showcase its achievements and goals regarding the global climate to the international community.
Representing China's industrial transformation, Wang Feng, President and CEO of Linglong Tire, delivered a keynote speech detailing the company's environmental progress and goals: Linglong is committed to significantly reducing CO2 emissions by 2030 and achieving climate neutrality by 2050—a decade ahead of the schedule set for Chinese companies in the Paris Agreement, aligning Linglong's internal targets with those of the European Union.
Linglong is already reducing carbon emissions today through efficient energy use, sustainable tire development, and intelligent supply chain management. The goal is to cut carbon emissions by 52.07% by 2035, reaching climate neutrality by 2050 at the latest. The company is focusing on five core elements: new materials, advanced technologies, modern processes, smart machinery, and sustainable, eco-friendly energy.
Last year, Linglong unveiled a concept tire made from 79% sustainable materials. By 2028, the company aims to increase the share of sustainable materials in every tire to 85%, with a goal of 100% by 2040. The use of bio-based feedstocks such as biotechnological (itaconate) rubber, rice husk ash, and corn-based silica replaces traditional petroleum-based raw materials, reducing carbon emissions by up to 35%. As the first Chinese tire manufacturer to join the Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber (GPSNR), Linglong works with other members to improve global sustainability in the natural rubber sector. Linglong supports FSC-certified natural rubber projects to improve the livelihoods of rubber farmers, preserve forests, and protect the rights of workers, indigenous peoples, and local communities. In resource recycling, Linglong promotes the use of liquid reclaimed rubber and pyrolysis carbon black to effectively utilize end-of-life tires and ensure a closed-loop resource cycle.
Linglong CEO Wang Feng emphasized that the dual-carbon roadmap is not just a commitment to environmental protection but is also revolutionizing the entire production process. The company will do everything in its power to achieve its environmental goals and provide consumers worldwide with eco-friendly, sustainable, and high-quality mobility solutions, ensuring a clean and beautiful planet for future generations.
The 30th UN Climate Change Conference is taking place from November 10 to 21 in Belém, the capital of the Brazilian state of Pará. COP 30 aims to define indicators for measuring and comparing adaptation to global warming. A list of approximately 100 points is being developed, covering areas such as local health status, climate-resilient infrastructure, livelihoods, water supply, and ecosystem protection.
